Listing this bike on behalf of Ed, one of our mechanics. It's a super sweet bike for trail adventures and getting around town, with high end parts from the 90s. It's a great starting point and yoou could set it up with a rear rack and bags for bikepacking and commuting.
Frame size is 47cm (seat tube from center of top tube to center of bottom bracket), with a 56cm top tube. Standover height is 30 inches with the current tires. Good for someone about 5'5"-5'9", give or take.
All original parts and very little wear. Barely any miles and stored away from the elements. Tires and grips are even still fine somehow. Shimano Deore XT components that stand the test of time.
Wheelset: 26" wheels with Araya RM-17 aluminum rim brake rims and Deore XT hubs. 7 speed rear hub with shimano HG cassette. Presta valves.
Drivetrain: 3x7 speed with Shimano crankset, Shimano SG chainrings, and Deore XT derailleurs and thumb shifters.
Brakes: Shimano SLR Canti brakes with original Deore XT brake pads.
Cockpit: Gary Fisher headset, matching paint stem, and grips. Flat bars, with original Shimano STI integrated thumb shifters/brake levers.
Frame: Steel frame, made in Japan and designed by Gary Fisher. Steel tubing is quad butted, OBS supersize tubing, made in USA.
Pedals: We take pedals off for storage but do have the original Deore XT pedals with toe clips that we are happy to include with the sale.
Condition: very little wear, all original parts. Some nicks in the paint and a scratch on the left side of the top tube.
Original price: $1,200 in 1990 (approximately $2,936 in 2025 dollars).
Expected labor: This bike has all the original components, kept in great condition and can be ridden as-is. We're keeping the original components until the bike finds a new home, but most riders will feel more comfortable with a shorter reach (sweptback bars and/or shorter stem). Can be converted into a city commuter with plushy tires, or into a drop bar gravel bike depending on how you want to use it. The stock saddle is also something most riders would want to customize. And if you're not taking it on rugged trails (most likely), you may want to put city or gravel tires on it. New brake pads will be nice too. Additional cost will depend on what and how much you choose to do on it.
